Im kinda into car but for the most part Im more into out fitting my Sprinter and motorbikes... BUT this AM I had the opportunity to drive the new BMW M4. OK this car is crazy fun for getting your grouches then you hit the to sport mode then you hit the track mode LMAO on how much fun this car is to drive, way over my budget but wow is it fun!

Brett... lets just say it was not on a closed close.

Like I said, not up on new cars but the morphing from a daily driver to track car at the push of a button... Just wild!

I drove a stock C6 ZR1 on the street a while back. Stupid amounts of power that I can believe they sell to "regular" people. I thought it was a handful at anything over 3000 RPM on the street and I am supposedly a qualified/licensed race car driver... well, OK I have the license......

    Hell YEAH cat!

I still remember the day I took a rental Challenger R/T to Buttonwillow. It was such good fun; I was thinking "this is what race cars of the 1960s must have been like...way more power than tire, semi-precise suspension, but massively forgiving and such fun"

I have no love for modern BMWs. However, having driven the new M4 at the track, it is such a leap forward compared to the underwhelming performance of the previous M3 that they deserve some praise. It went 1.8 secs faster on a 1 minute track, same driver.
Its still not a track car, but it can hold its own.

I drove a friends M4 on the street for about 40 minutes. The first thing I noticed was the stupid sound from the engine noise being fed into the stereo speakers. Reminded me of my old VAROOM that we used to have on our bicycles LOL

Car itself is pretty impressive however.

He is on the list to get one of the track models when they make it to America.

I wrote BMW told them I would never guy another BMW until I was able to turn that feature off. I told them I stopped putting playing cards in the spokes of my bicycle when I was 6.
That feature is embedded in the infotainment system. You can't get it out. It is embarrassing.

And the exhaust tone in the stock mode is stupid as well whats up with that! I get it in the street and track mode. Not much more than a big truck guy sporting a small....

It truly is embarrassing and introduces new problems such as: problems with the entertainment system such as blown speakers, reduced music quality when he speakers are asked to reproduce two sounds at once, speaker upgrades changing the engine sound, subwoofer installation and effect on engine sounds. Plus, the whole concept serves only as an admission that BMW can't engineer a decent sounding exhaust note, which is just pathetic.

My M4 has been on track at Spa Francorchamps, the Nordschleife, and the Nurburgring GP circuit. Besides the stock MPSS going off, the only issue I had was boiling the brake fluid (which is to be expected). The M3/4 finally have a decent set of brakes from the factory.

The Active Sound Design (ASD) module can simply be unplugged or disabled via coding. It's an absolute necessity with any new BMW.

Oh Em Gee, that is mouth watering. I doubt there's ever been such a good deal at a dealership in automotive history. Iowa is a good place to sell these, seeing how the entire state has the same population as a college campus, and the odds of two out-of-control 700+ Mustangs running into each other is comparable to a blackhole wandering through our solar system, gobbling up celestial objects like a fat person at a buffet. If these were sold elsewhere, say, Los Angeles, then the death toll would be comparable to that one time an angry motorist decided to drive through irresponsible bicyclists staging a demonstration in NY by blocking a public thoroughfare. Blood would fill the streets, flowing through the miles of rubber tread patterns baked into the asphalt like an urban version of crop circles, and gutters would be stopped with countless plastic mustang parts.
