Default The BMW/Audi ad wars continue...

I saw this today and thought it was pretty funny, it's up in Santa Monica:

This was my favorite user generated response. Too bad BMW took theirs down after a week or two. It isn't up any more.

I have owned both, all of them bought new.

    1988 BMW 528e
    1990 BMW 535i
    1992 BMW 325is
    1995 BMW M3

    2004 Audi S4

They are both fine street performance cars, and both are overpriced. One thing is for sure. Audis are way better looking cars than BMWs ever since Chris Bangle destroyed the BMW brand styling. I think the current (2nd gen.) Audi TT Coupe is one of the most beautiful cars ever designed (especially in white).

I would look at an Audi before a BMW today, but I'd probably wouldn't buy either one, with choices like Corvette Z06, Mitsubishi Evo X, Subaru STI, Nissan GT-R, Lotus Exige, Porsche Cayman S, etc.

The deposed former Sheriff of trackHQ . . .

    2006 Porsche 997 Carerra Coupe 6-MT - daily driver
1992 Honda (Acura) NSX 5-MT - classic investment I couldn't resist and occasionally drive
    2004 Honda S2000 AP2 6-MT - track day car
2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR 6-MT - when I need a backseat, 4-doors, or a real trunk, and still want to haul ass . . .

I like what Audi has been doing lately. They still look overweight with that huge overhang up front. They really feel overweight when you drive them too. Looking back, I think its safe to say that BMW age much better as well. Having said that, only way I would choose an Audi over a BMW would be if I had weather to consider.
