Default Any supercar friendly hotel in SoCal?

So finally I secured an Audi R8 for my proposal day... but I've been scratching my head and loosing sleep on the thought that the R8 will be parked outside (even though it is still on the hotel property) at the current hotel I've made reservation with.

Even though it is a rented R8 but i feel responsible for keeping the car safe, so I'm wondering if anyone out there has any experience with hotels in SoCal that is supercar friendly, meaning:

    - gated/garaged parking lot
    - security patrolled
    - generous parking stall width
    - not too steep ramps (to avoid scraping)
    - allows self-parking (i don't mind paying a fee, but I absolutely do not want to valet the car)

    Any suggestions?

Thought I saw your other thread but don't remember if it said where in SoCal you are staying. I am sure the city you are visiting would help us SoCal folks recommend a hotel.

I think you are worrying about this a bit too much. In LA especially, nice cars like that are commonplace. They are daily driven, parked outside, parallel parked, etc., but I understand you might be worried about liability to the rental company. If you are staying in Los Angeles, what part of the city do you want to be in? What's your budget per night?

Drive up to Santa Barbara and stay at Bacara. You can valet or self-park. The valets might let you self park it right out front which is still well off the street which is out of the way as it is.

San Ysidro Ranch is another spot up the road from my house that wouldn't have any problems with parking. The beauty of high end spots is that they're very likely to cater to your needs but bring some cash for tipping.

Right now I have reservation at this hotel in Torrance, near Western/Carson intersection, my budget is no more than $200 per night

I spoke to a friend who used to live in Torrance and he advised me against parking the car outside in that area since he thinks the area is just "so-so"...

So far here are the cities i've been looking at, Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, Torrance, Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach.

Yep, watched Ferris Bueller... aaaaaand the R8 I'm renting already has a minor front end damage from a valet (from the previous renter)... ugh

I'd look for a Travel Zoo deal or something similar and stay at a better location. I have to ask, why Torrance?

If this will happen soon, I still think SB is the way to go. Maybe Fess Parker Double Tree? They have gated parking and would probably keep it in the valet area for you.

Edit: Maybe the Santa Barbara Inn or Inn at East Beach might be better for your budget. Don't be afraid to call places and tell them your plan. Places might be willing to help you out out.

I choose Torrance because it is a very japanese area, and there are a lot of japanese food there.

My girlfriend and I love Japanese food.

Due to the mileage limitation of the car, I don't think I can drive that far west to Santa Barbara. I would love to but it will get too expensive for me.

My tentative plan is to take my girlfriend to San Diego for the day, and then drive back up after dinner on the PCH.

But it is definitely open to changes.

The closer to the water the better as far as how good the area is around the South Bay. Don't know if it will be in budget but hotels in Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Palos Verdes (fun to drive too ), El Segundo will be in a nicer area. Pretty close to Torrance and Japanese restaurants.

I grew up in the area. Check out Amuza in Gardena and Ramen Yamayada in Torrance. Both hole in the wall places and good.

Tsuruhashi in huntington beach has the best japanese bbq I've ever had, hands down bar none. It's actually priced pretty well too but you need to make reservations.

You can park next to the countless R8s on the streets in Orange County. Any where else, it will be in a shipping container in Long Beach by morning, or Tijuana.

I think there are at least two here on my street in Brentwood that are parked outside rented apartments. Priorities I guess?

One of my managers lives in Brentwood, and there is a v10 R8 that parks on the street in front of his place. It's a small world, and i might now know where you live...
