^^ Why is the left rear tire trailing smoke?

Cool posts and pics. I think I have a hard time seeing myself in some of these cars though, or wanting to drive them outside the track. The 911 looks like it could be a lot of fun.

There's a lot of nice looking mustangs and camaros in photos but it would probably feel like towing a boat around the track compared to what I'm used to.

Maybe my real question is what is the simplest damn car worth racing that can be registered and smogged. If I don't touch any emissions items, then smog won't be an issue. I don't need a bunch of hp to get around the track. 300 is plenty in a ~3000 lb car.

If money was no object the answer to that would be a GTM supercar with hand crank windows.

Could be better, but the head/cam is ok and I think the JE forged pistons are still good. But the block and crank are toast. When a NEW BMW rod bolt breaks the results are not the best. So yeah all the Suspension bits are finally sorted out and last time out at WSIR car was doing 1:41's before the rod bolt broke...not bad for a bucket of bolts from the 70's with the aerodynamics of a square block

Factory 5 makes a couple of Shelby kits. Both based on the Fox body parts. The Cobra would need a hard top that would fit over the cage. But the Daytona would work. Both have Per 70s VINs.
That's not a Typo, I just can't spell no so well.

A base C5 corvette makes a great platform for what you want and you can get them cheap. BTW, those 70's porsches are very cool. Timeless body style.

This guy is building a GTM, and has $25K in parts into it. And a whole lotta labor and time sourcing parts. Hmm...

The factory five kit, DIY supercar clunker. Wonder if I can get a used car loan for it, lol.
