Don't take it personally, but I hate it when people don't take saftey at the track seriously. There was no fire and rescue on track, and there was a truck servicing port-a-potties beyond the hot pits? (by the way he made it sound)

I'd be pissed too. Big time insurance and liability risk. Its idiots like the guys on track that make track access difficult because the owners need to be so strict about who and how they let people out there. These would also be the tools that would sue the track if they rolled their car in 9 and fire and rescue didn't respond fast enough to save them.

    /rant off

    carry on with your hilarity.

I'm with Matt on this one. Sounds like the track was closed, fire rescue wasn't there, and they had maintenance trucks on track cleaning port-a-poties and these guys just went out without permission.

I was there for that event. It was the televised "Street Tuner Challenge" Focus vs. EVO vs. Cooper S.

I'm not sure what the situation was but their were tons of miscommunication between the teams/producer/track/etc...

That's Jim. He runs the front office/track on a daily basis, and I think actually lives there.

He can be an azzhole. He wouldn't let me run the Friday open test 'n' tune in my caged track day Evo because it doesn't have a fuel cell, and said I couldn't run my Spec Miata, which is fully safety compliant with NASA and SCCA log books and current annual tech, because it doesn't have a fuel cell either (not required by sacntioning bodies).

Jim told me that their insurance requires a fuel cell for open test 'n' tune Fridays. In the past (like a year ago) he used to let me run in the Evo without it, but since the fatality the NASA event last summer, I think they are being tougher about it.

I'd be surprised if they didn't let fully SCCA/NASA race cars run Friday before those organization's weekend events, but taking Jim at his word, maybe an SM can't test (or any other car without a fuel cell).

i have confirmed with wsir that they installed a porto potty near turn 8 and 9 due to overwhelming complaints of how scary the turn is.

Spin out toward the outfield in Turn 9. Try to save it and go spinning into the infield. Go take a dump. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200.

Ed, try opening it with quicktime. you can force that by right-clicking on the file and choosing "open with..." and then choosing quicktime.
