Default Adrian Newey to Step Back from F-1

Pretty big deal from the internet (a few days ago):

Adrian Newey says that next year’s Red Bull car will be the last in which he has any hands-on involvement – and even then only in a limited capacity.

The World Champions announced ahead of Sunday’s Canadian GP that Newey had signed a new multi-year agreement but added that he will step back from F1 in order to work on new projects for Red Bull Technology.

Speaking to Sky Sports F1’s Martin Brundle on the grid in Montreal, Newey confirmed he would have a limited influence over Red Bull’s 2015 car before moving into what the team described as a more limited “advising and mentoring” capacity.

"I am looking forward to some different challenges, I've had a great time in Formula 1, but it is time to get involved in different things," Newey said.

The 55-year-old, who oversaw the design of four straight title-winning cars between 2010 and 2013, said he would be involved "slightly with next year's car. I will be involved in the initial layout and stuff then in the future I will be involved with the guys in the future just mentoring them and stuff and being an advisory really”.

Newey, who also enjoyed title-winning success with Williams and McLaren before joining Red Bull in 2006, added: "I have loved the career I've had, but I feel I need some new challenges and stimulations.

“I said I didn't want to spend my whole career purely in motor racing and now it is time to look at a few different things."

F1 will miss his genius and creativity... but F1's loss will be someone else's gain...

They say he wants to design Americas cup boats, I'd like to see him work with Mark Webber in the WEC. In somewhat related news Marko tells Vettel to man up and drive.
If nothing happens and there is no one around why did it not happen?
