I agree with Evo 8, 9 and GT-R, but the question was cars of the '80s and '90s, not the first decade of the new century.

    2006 Porsche 997 Carerra Coupe 6-MT - daily driver
1992 Honda (Acura) NSX 5-MT - classic investment I couldn't resist and occasionally drive
    2004 Honda S2000 AP2 6-MT - track day car
2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR 6-MT - when I need a backseat, 4-doors, or a real trunk, and still want to haul ass . . .

ugh. Not a fan of that list. low production in and of itself doesn't make something desirable. Heck, I don't think they made many pontiac aztecs...

List makes no sense. For example, 2001 Corvette Z06 is the least desirable of the C5 Z06 cars because it had 385 bhp, and all the 2002-on cars had 405 bhp.

How often to you see an M Roadster at the track? Almost never. They suck. Too heavy, not well balanced. A Miata with extra hp will kill an M Roadster.

NSX as a collectible is a no-brainer, but why the 2005?

Solstice? Gimme a break. No Evo 8/9 or GT-R on that list. It's just stupid.

because it is the last year. first or last year model is usually most desirable (but in the case of NSX, 10x more first year model were made).

I thought Evo 9 MR should make the list.
No GTR, because it is still not over in production yet. what if it came out next year with 1,000 hp and 1,000LB lighter. nobody would want an 09.

What is the last year if the final generation of Toyota Supra Turbo? That seems like a very collectible car.

I think 2006 Evo (the only model year of the Evo IX) is more collectible than the VIII because it's just a better car.

Of all BMW's, I think the E46 M3 should be collectible, even though they made a lot of them. Not the Z4 M or M coupe.

Nope, just me forgetting when the production run ended. The s54 cars are a real gem but had bearing issues.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the first or second gen Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX.

The only ones left on the road are ratty as hell. Good choice for cheap collector car though.

I agree that most are ratted out. Same with the 3000GT VR4 (another good one for the list). However, there are a few examples out there.

Here is one, although it certainly is not stock.

I am, however, partial to the first gen model, as I had one (1990). It was a GST, though, not a GSX.
