and how does the Redline Time Attack group work? Is it only Time Trial stuff, or is there open track HPDE stuff as well?

7 20 minute sessions is awesome. Only downside to that I can think of is counting the heat cycles on your tires. That's a pretty good deal, and one of the reasons I think I want to enter TTB next year.

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Morning is in the format of HPDE. Sunday afternoon is the main event, Time Attack sessions. Time Attack is not required. You can drive Friday/Saturday only.

    Re: LS August, Oct event.
I'll know when the time is near. I still don't have my car yet. And when I do get my car back, I want to make sure everything checks out before tracking it. I'm assunming, very conservatively, my car will be OK by Nov Redline event.

Damn Manly, how much stuff are they doing to your car? Didn't seem like it was THAT much damage. Hopefully you can get it back and ready for October.

John, so do you know the format for the August Laguna SV event? will it be like the CalSpeedway events with POC with four 20 minute sessions? or will the SV guys get more track time?

Not much, it is the problem with my insurance company and body shop. They can't agree on the labor rate. So, things are at a stand still right now. I was gonna fix it myself in the garage if it was only the clamshell that was damage. But the Carbon crash structure is also damage which needs to by heated/glued/etc, and I don't have the tool or skill to repair this part. The estimate came out to $16,500. So, I'm gonna wait for them to work things out. Cause no way I can pay the $16k right now.

$16k? holly crap! I guess Carbon work is expensive. Well, I guess you do just have to sit and wait it out. Maybe make daily phone calls to your insurance company asking them to suck it up and pay for it. Then get separate track insurance

John, as it gets closer, I'll decide if 4 x 25 minute sessions will be worth the drive up. It all depends on how busy I will be at work. Is there any chance to get on the track with POC on Saturday? My car is at least a German car...

I've seen BMW and Viper running with POC groups.
    Here's proof.

That m3 was my student, I think if you look closely you will see me in there. And that's my buddy matt in the Viper who also drives porsches.

In the STS series, they allow for other cars. The TT series which happens at the bigger tracks is just porsche and you have to have a small license to go as well. Sometimes they make exceptions I guess for other cars of members that are just taking out a different car, but its on a per issue basis.

So doubtful then. Maybe if I put Porsche badges on my car, I can sneak it in I could drive it backwards so the engine is in the rear...

Jared runs with me in the POC STS sometimes, we are going to put a "turbo" emblem on his STI. It's cheap track time, but the downside is you can't move up the ladder at all without a Porsche.
I will be joining you guys in NASA though once I get cup licensed through POC.

Fit and finnish should be OK. I've seen exterior repair jobs from them before. I'm just a little concern if they will bleed the Oil coolers/lines and cooling system properly. Can't wait to get it back on the track.
