Default 3 guys unfolding a slick...

This is a kinda funny video in a keystone cops kinda way.
These Avon slicks are shipped folded in half.
Here the local tire shop works on them like gorillas at airport baggage.
Now I just use a couple of axle straps and a ratcheting tie down between my truck and trailer to unfold them.

Pretty dang clever way to get shipping costs down if it doesn't hurt the tire. Just need an easy way to unfold and you're golden.

^^^ Does shipping of tires constitute a major portion of your racing budget?

Since the tires come from Europe in a container it is cost effective.

Photo unfolding a slick at home.
One rachet tie down and 4 axle straps attached to the tire sidewall.
Rigged between my truck and car trailer.
Just a couple snugs on the rachet and the tire unfolded.

lol wtf. I have never seen that before. Learn something new everyday. Does it really not compromise the tire?
