New tactic for racing: any time another driver has a run, run them completely off immediately.

Nico committed the cardinal sin of doing something nasty to cover the fact that he just screwed up big time by leaving the choke on.

imho, Nico carries the blame more than Hamilton. my reasoning is: no way for Hamilton to avoid it (he saw an opening and went for it, closing rate was way too high for Hamilton to change his mind by then. only way is Hamilton braking down on a straight) but Rosberg can avoid it. my point is if you can avoid it regardless if you have a right to do so, you should always avoid contact.

though I don't think Nico did it on purpose, from the Sky analysis, Nico was definitely distracted (changing knob on his steering wheel).

another point is Nico can afford to be aggressive in defending, as taking out both Mercedes is Nico 1, Hamilton 0

    From the stewards.

The incident concerned started when Car 6 (Rosberg) dropped into an incorrect power mode, as set by the driver prior to the start. This created a significant power differential between Car 6 and Car 44 (Hamilton) at the exit of Turn 3 coming onto the straight, resulting in as much as a 17kph speed difference between the two cars on the straight. Car 6 moved to the right to defend his position, as is his right under Art 27.7 of the Sporting regulations.

"Simultaneously Car 44 as the significantly faster car with, at that time, apparent space on the inside, moved to make the pass. Art 27.7 requires the leading driver to leave room, if there is a “significant portion” of the car attempting to pass alongside. Car 44 had a portion of his front wing inside Car 6 small fractions of a second prior to Car 44 having to leave the right side of the track to avoid an initial collision, which may have led him to believe he had the right to space on the right. Once on the grass on the side of the track Car 44 was no longer in control of the situation."

"Having heard extensively from both drivers and from the team, the Stewards determined that Car 6 had the right to make the maneuver that he did and that Car 44’s attempt to overtake was reasonable, and that the convergence of events led neither driver to be wholly or predominantly at fault, and therefore take no further action."

It's hard to tell for sure because of the way a telephoto lens will compress space. Then you have the wide angle onboard cameras so they can't tell the story accurately either. As I said earlier, I agree that Rosberg didn't give Hamilton anywhere to go and since they're team members should have not come over so hard on Hamilton.

We should not asign blame based on other series rules/standards. I think the stewards decision was correct for this series. These guys all agree to how 'hard" they race by participating in F1.
Put this exact incident into BTCC or V8-SC, it would be a non-incident, (or better yet, SuperCross). It all depends on the series.
So saying driver1 or driver2 is at fault is kind of pointless, since the series stewards did rule it a racing incident..
But at the end of the day, it was shocking! I am surprised it has not happened sooner.

Regarding scoring, who won the teammate battle between Rosberg and Hamilton? I say 0 points awarded for that entry.

    A couple of quick questions,

If you pick a driver in the correct position, do you get both set of points? Example, say I picked Vettel for 3rd, is that 4 points (1+3) or just 3 ?

And the forth place driver, are we only counting positions 1-3, podium? Or if we successfully picked 4th is that the same points wise as picking 3rd?

    Points update:

I didn't catch GraemeD's bonus points for Raikkonen finishing in the top 3. He's now has the top score for this race.
