Go to 1:37:40 You'll get a bit more information on the car design and some hood height info. (Careful the audio breaks up bad at the fade in)

I actually thought it was going to be higher, since that is the trend with the automakers for the safety regulations. Glad it isn't the standard ugly super high fender.

They must be a cheap band for hire right now and someone is promoting them heavily.

I like the car in the pictures. It looks somewhat BMW Roadster like, but still different and unique.

I like that is looks slightly muscular and it looks more sporty than its predecessors.

I am not sure I like the tail lights.

This car is begging to be made into a fastback, can you say poor man's F type.

    Beautiful.
Mazda nailed it with this one.
Proportions are more in tune with classic sports car design, less cuteness, more muscle and that tail is terrific.
Can't wait to see it in the flesh in a couple of days, let alone to drive one.

I like the Miata. I love the idea of the Miata. I love what people do with Miatas.

The Miata has never been a stunner in the looks department. It made up for that in other ways. And it has had a sort of 'personality' to its look.

Of all the generations, this new one they're showing looks to be the ugliest. To my eye, it's got a design-by-committee look to it.

But this is just a comment on the styling of the thing -- not the thing itself. The new Corvette is ugly, too. And by all accounts it's a pretty great car.

I saw Duran Duran about 10 years ago and it was a pretty solid live show. Holy crap they got a lot worse live. I wonder if they lost members or something.

A lot of the manufacturers are targeting a different demographic. The Corvette for example has been redesigned specifically to the Gen X and Gen Y crowd and not a 50 year old guy like me. Only time will tell whether they hit that mark or not, but I do find it interesting to hear remarks from that target market segment that many of them do like the car and they even like the tail lights. The Corvette marketers even acknowledge that their target market cannot yet afford to buy the car, but they are in a reset mode for the brand for a whole new crop of future buyers. Perhaps Mazda is doing some of that with this new model. With the new curves and more muscle vs. cuteness they are looking for a new demographic. They are not selling to hairdressers any longer they are now selling to stay-at-home dads, nannies and male nurses.

    Looks real nice.

The front end is just a little bit too "smilely face"; but, overall, I am very impressed.

Im wondering how tall the fella in the seat is?
I know he raised his feet after pulling in but he doesn't look comfy.
One thing Im not pleased with my NB is seating room in stock form of course, and Im 5'.11" (155.75cm)

Do you really want Mazda to make it even easier for Miata drivers to follow Z06 drivers too closely?

Other than them both being FR, 2 seat convertibles I don't see much resemblance. Z4 is much busier then the ND. I like the looks of the Z4 but I think the ND looks more like a smaller F-Type. I like it.
