Blew three motors. I don't think any of his completed fast laps were done with the wick turned up or in good conditions. The motor issues kept setting him back, he'd get a new one in and be on a fast-looking flyer and he'd pop another motor. His fastest completed lap still earned him 3rd in Pro and that was from a mid-day session in the heat on Friday. I don't doubt he had the ability to give Tilton a serious run for their money without the crutch of the engine issues.

Quick post from Speedhunters on Friday with a few good pics, plus notes on the heat - 140* F surface temp on the track
    Welcome Back, WTAC - Speedhunters

And another quick post from the end of Saturday. That top shot of the front of the Tilton car is drool-worthy. They mention that that car is supposedly retired now, but I heard commentators during the livestream say that while it won't be returning to this event in future years, it will be taken overseas to have a crack at other track's records. I do hope so.

I always thought having the splitter endplate sealed against the vertical fence would be beneficial for max downforce, but it seems this year alot of WTAC cars have moved the splitter wider and end plates no longer sealed against the fence. Is a wider front splitter > having end plate sealed against vertical fence?

The sides of the splitters aren't splitters any more, they're wings.
