Wet it is nearly 3,500. I think the GMs claimed weight was a little under 3,400 lbs.

The blower set-up alone is about 200 lbs as I recall.
To the right of The Sheriff. Isn't everyone?

    Somewhere up there.
Honestly the C7 is right at 3400lbs and drives like it is 400lbs less. We are lapping our courses right at our C6 Z06 times. Easier to drive consistently at the limit and recover once past said limit.
I am not going to comment on what the C7 Z06 is going to be like because I haven't driven one yet. Word is we will have an opportunity to do so soon.

We can be sure that its real world weight is going to be a bit heavier of course. That said weight however I dont believe is going to be super noticeable from the driver seat. Between the super responsiveness of the stingray while adding substantially more rubber underneath its fenders with a very short geared transmission they can hide the weight pretty well.

I am not a fan of it being F/I but it is what it is. Like I said I am fairly sure there will be a in-between car coming.

Of course a lot of us here would love to see a factory prepped race car from Chevy like a Porsche GT3 Cup only faster and cheaper to maintain. But back to the non-caged street car, basically you have to look at sports cars like this:

    1. They are largely sold on an image
    2. Make the cheaper stripped out car faster means for the "image" that is the one to have.
    3. Stripped out cheaper faster car is annoying on the road to those who do not realize the advantage on the track.
    4. Sales go down because not many people want loud race car but also don't want poseur image of buying loaded luxury barge because it is not "the fastest".

So here we are to keep the face of those who never drive on track anyway....

A 550hp NA version coming in around 3200lbs and with the goodies of a Z07 package would be the perfect track car and I'd put my deposit down for it immediately.

GM needs to sell C7 rollers without VIN so we can make racecars out of them reasonably cheaply. It sucks to have to gut out a perfectly good streetcar.

Amazing. Pork or no, the Z06 remains the ultimate supercar bargain that the C6 Z06 was. I'm particularly intrigued by the new 8 speed auto. Lighter than the old 6 speed, faster shifting that a Posrche PDK.

This old tech slushbox will put DCT and F1 shifters in the dustbin of history. Hillbilly Bob can rebuild a slushbox on his back porch. DCT's and F1's need unobtainable diagnositic tools to work on their software. The key will be if the oil coolers on the slushbox can take the heat of racing them.
