They'll be fine in track-form like the current GA cars, only thing is, the current car is a little restricted as is... so I can't imagine this one not getting even further restrictions...

Not to mention what the AIX guys are gonna do to this thing.

The current camaro was designed an a street car. A big mean looking street car. It's a very nice street car. I just don't' think track performance was high on the list of things the car had to do well when GM designed and built it. GM still makes the corvette which continues to dominate the road course.

Track performance has recently become a big deal for the Camaro because the new Mustang is a good track performer. GM wants to try and capture some of these potential buyer. It's all about how you market a car.

The gt500 is rumored to have 600hp to keep ahead of the zr1. The problem with the gt500 has been the lack of traction, it is suposed to get wider rear tires.

As far as track ready well in cooler weather it should be ok but when the temps get above 90* they wil get into limp mode just like most blown cars. The 5.0 gt's are already getting too hot on track and i'm sure the boss is having the same problems. . The remedy for them are a bigger radiator and a tiger racing hood.

That thing is even 400 lbs heavier than a GT-R! On a different note, if the car has 20's, I'd love to try a set of the Camaro's tires on the GT-R. They might be better than the Dunlop SP600's that are currently the best street/track tire for the GT-R if using the OEM 20" rims.

Back to the original topic, I too would be very interested to see what kind of lap times this thing can put down in the hands of a capable driver.

The GT500 can add all the power it wants and it will never compete against the ZR1 in the same buying market. And the same thing goes for every car in these pony wars..next year will bring more, GM can't fore-see Fords future so they can only base it off beating the 2011 and come up with a good estimate of parts/power to beat. In the video I posted they are doing a 24 hour test, I'm sure kinks would work themselves out there. I haven't heard of any cooling problems in the LS9 or LSA motors on track yet, and lots of people are tracking them; but yes putting FI on track typically brings higher temps

Given that it weighs more than the Titanic, that's a pretty good lap time!

Let's hope they don't use a track key like Ford did, Boss 302 owners can't get them because of CARB.
If nothing happens and there is no one around why did it not happen?

That's a GM paint scheme used on cars that have not been released yet to hide body lines using a non-descript printed finish.

the ZR1 before it was released:

some companies cover cars with drape like sheets that hide a lot, others use paint schemes to hide things..
