Unfortunately we were the only ones in Hybrid class this year, but we beat the old records and had a lot of fun. We got some great data for our new products and that was the goal. I pushed a few cars into mistakes and offs... I think from the confusion of a Hybrid in their rearview.

Hi. Kinda awkward to have this be my first post and please excuse me if I go off topic. Last month my girlfriend, myslef , and some friends went to Buttonwillow intent on running some Civics. When I got there I noticed my aftercooler pump wasn't working and I couldn't run the Civic. My girlfriend offered to let me track her CR-Z so we went about swapping our rims/tires(235/40/17 Dunlop SS on 17x8+45) It was a hoot to drive and I ended up getting 2:17.7xx. Bone stock with Hawk HPS pads. No weight reduction since it's her DD. I was wondering what the limitations on modification were for the class. I did a cursory Google search on the rules for the hybrid class but couldn't find anything. Would you happen to now where I can find them?

Congrats to everyone and FXMD for breaking the record. A lot of work has been done in a year and it's great to see it pay off.

RE:Berk. so by just throwing on NT01s they are ~5 seconds faster than when they were on RS3. wow. impressive.

^^ + wider wheels/tires with the new over fenders.

I was also told on their timed sessions they had the new Hankook Z221 TD on the rears, which compound they were running is unknown... whatever it was its a fast tire! Hankook is making great acheivements with their new tires, all their tires will soon be THE tire to have.

Congrats to Berk with the new record, can't wait to see how much faster the RWD class will go next season.

WOW. So what was the record laptime?

I hope that video shows everybody why Infineon is about a 10,000 times better a road course than Buttonwillow.

Unfortunately videos lack the sense of elevation. It must be a super fun course to drive, and I am very sad I never got to drive it before being just down the street from me, and I gave up on the car... maybe one day I will take my kart on the big boy track! The walls are just too much of a risk for someone with not enough experience in my case. Ya, I am very surprised BRP was placed higher in the rankings ...

Wow, thank you so much! Come by any time! I was doing the engineering for the car as well so I was pretty much running around crazy this year and didn't chat with very many people. I really think we can improve with more driver seat time.

It is a developing class, so the rules are relatively simple at the moment. I am sure as the class develops they will form a more defined rules package.

    1. Must have a functioning Hybrid Drivetrain
    2. UTQG 80 or more (Limited Class tire rules)

We ran 205/55/16 RS3s on our car. Some cars last year ran R888s

Excellent. I need some downforce for SM. The catch is it needs to be completely undetectable by visual inspection.

What you just described is what I do for a living the values are much lower than they would be for a class with wide open aero, but gains are there for sure.
