Porsche's engineers are crazy and I mean that as a compliment.

Whoever built the launch control system, should have been commissioned to build the intermediate shafts on the 996s.

It's a good thing the 991 Turbo S is reliable. The 991 GT3 is prone to self immolation. On a recent Top Gear, Richard Hammond said Porsche told him not to drive his GT3, an then took it away from him.

They hired a few engineers from Mazda's FD program for that one...

Instead of spending time on launch control I'd like it if the cars didn't have launch control but didn't have failures like the: IMS (996, 997.1, 986), coolant fitting failures (even on the gt3s), carbon build up for the direct inj cars (997.2), 997 gt3 diff and the 991 gt3 catching on fire every once and awhile just to name a few. I know compared to cars in their league, they are WAY more reliable. But being someone who will only ever be buying a used P car, it makes me bitter. That being said, if I were to cough up a 100k on a car today, I'd buy a 991 c2s in a second.

Since this is a fleet car I suspect it's on the way to the crusher. I would loved to see what happened to the tires.
If nothing happens and there is no one around why did it not happen?
