Cancelled my order and purchased one they had that just came in. SLT trim, v6, towing package, leather seats, all of the options. Basically loaded sans off road suspension and 4x4. I love this truck way more than it's healthy to love an american vehicle.

Since it didn't happen without pictures

this is how you get $1,500 off Silverado till end of April. Eric: no worry, Canyon isn't on it.

Use incognito mode on chrome... Browse the camaro (on Chevy.com, only tried Camaro, but offer is good for Silverado) build it out completely... Check inventory ... Then compare against a mustang ... bam! Offer pops up.

this "private" offer is for $1,500 off 2014/15 Silverado, traverse. or $1,000 off Malibu, Equinox, Impala, Camaro, Volt and SS sedans.

I posted this on FB too but I've been building Sierras and Silverados on their respective sites and the Sierras are showing about $7K off without trying but the Silverados only show $2k off.

2002 Excursion and 07 Interstate, just bought the trailer so it still needed cleaning... Just bought an Equal-i-zer hitch setup (and a bunch of other things) for it yesterday, will probably install that this weekend.

I have been reading about the new diesel's (USA) that need DEF and regeneration of the DPF to clean itself. Seems the whole exhaust system is very complicated. Is it worth getting in to one of the new type diesel's?
What is the sweet spot model year wise that does not need DEF and regeneration?

For Chevy and GMC is 2006. I go the last year one and refuse to trade in for the new one with DEF crap.

DEF is huge pain... you have to open the bottle, and actually pour it in yourself... ain't no one got time for that.

All kidding a side, I don't get what the problem with DEF is?... I have no issues.

I just bought a 2005 Silverado with the Duramax LLY motor. Because of the emissions controls on later years, the 2005 to 2007 GMT 900 bodies are the last good GM diesels. The last good Fords were the 7.3 liters, the last of which were sold in the 2001 model year.

There are lots of guys on here with Rams who can chime in on their reliability/complexity.

If you want Gm go with 06 LBZ
LBZ use a different injection pump and injectors (7 hole VS 5)
Unless is a 06 LLY then is almost same as LBZ , just detuned. Nothing a flash can't fix.
Power stroke is a joke, Fords drive shaft/transmission keep breaking.
    Can't comment on Dodge.

Actually they changed over to the 6.0 in mid-2003, you can still find early 2003s with a 7.3, they are rare though for sure...

I have a 2002 F350 with the 7.3 diesel and love it. I special ordered it and it was built in Kentucky. Ford has not changed the design of the SuperDuty line all that much so it does not look dated as of yet. I have no plans to sell it any time soon.

Regarding new trucks, the small size and 300 ft. lbs. torque of the prospective, turbo diesel Santa Cruz could work for some.

I remember this concept. Looks like unibody constructon, so I would have serious questions about the towing capability, let alone the short wheelbase. Its a step in the right direction! I still wish Ford would just bring the Ranger world platform back to the US with the diesels they stuff in it.

GM will start making the U.S. version of the Canyon/Colorado with 2.8 diesel and exhaust brake. Rated 7700 RWD and 7600 4wd for towing - not bad. Should get over 30 mpg highway not towing.
