Default Nitto NT-01 vs Hankook R-S3

Hi guys. I did some search and couldn't find any specific comparisons.
    I was wondering how a NT01 compares to a RS3. 15 inch 225 RS3 vs 15 inch 205 NT01.

I know one is an old R-compound and the other is a newer 140+ tire, but from what I have heard they are pretty similar in performance. I am thinking the NT01 is a bit quicker.

Does anyone have any information regarding laptimes with each tire?

NT01 is ~2 seconds (in 2 minutes course like BW) faster if same size. of course it would be very track dependent (say in a Miata at AAA speedway OVAL, it would probably no difference)

different size is very difficult to compare to. almost impossible. it is car dependent, track dependent (205 would be faster than 225 on AAA Speedway Roval, but 225 would be a lot faster at SOW). so answer would be no idea on 15 inch 225 RS3 vs 15 inch 205 NT01

    Thanks.
I'm trying to compare my time to some of the other cars at my home track. Its a 0.8 mile circuit with all sorts of elements, two short straightaways, very lateral G and horsepower oriented. Vmax in a stock miata is around 72mph. My car was on 225 RS3s with mild aero, mild springs, his was on SM suspension and NT-01s in 205s. I think we both have stockish power levels. I hit my target goal but found out he ran a sub minute time before I did!!! so my new goal is to build an S2000 killer (only on my home track though). I'm 0.3 seconds behind an AP1 with AP2 wheels wrapped in star specs, with a good dirver (I think he is quicker than me in terms of driving)

NT01 is faster for sure... but probabaly not more than 1 sec say at Buttonwillow... more like .5~.75 sec based on Mark's driving (colatkitty)
from my own experience, NT01 has more traction going through quick left and right transitions like cotton corners... on the other hand RS-3 does incredibly well over long corners like riverside... NT01 also turns in better and tends to be more rotational (tail happy) than the RS-3!
I've only ran RS-3 twice so I don't want to jump to conclusion just yet.. will post more info once I get more seat time on them =)

btw, if your home circuit is .8 miles i.e. all tight corners, I'm sure NT01 is faster assuming same size.. (since William already pointed out that we cannot compare tires with different sizes)

    I would agree.

OP - 0.8 mile track, 72mph Vmax - are you on a gokart track?

Although its not exactly what your looking to see, here is some data from GRM's website regarding a test on a skidpad. Gives an idea of of how close (or far) these types of tires are in pure data, note the size differential as well.

    - 235 NT05's (Very Similar to the RS-3's) - Indicated g: 1.067 - Calculated g: 0.969
    - 225 NT01's (Shaved) - Indicated g: 1.117 - Calculated g: 1.016
