Driving on snow is one of the greatest driving experience one can ever get.Proper tires and 4x4 can give you better control than you think. The banked snow can offset the small mistakes, but not the big ones.
All you need is a good car, experience and..........balls.

Great drive! Rally Sweden is always a favorite, especially with any Finnish or Swedish driver. Other drivers to watch are Hirvonen (1st in Rally Sweden last year) and Latvala (3rd). Older footage of Gronholm, Solberg, and Makinen are some of my favorites in Sweden. They drive with heart. Many epic drives there with incredible car control.

Sweden is a bit of an exception on the WRC calendar. Most other road surfaces reward Loeb's robtically precise driving style. While the flying Fins drive fluidly in long flowing arcs, Loeb is surgically precise. In fact Loeb's driving is so exact, it's BORING. Rarely does he get excited or frazzled. Rarely does he swing the car out as wide (but saving the car from rocks and punctures). That makes him very successful on gravel and tarmac. But not in Sweden. Sweden rewards that fluid and flowing driving style with wide arcs and tons of momentum. Despite Loeb's stellar record as WRC god, all the wins and 8 championships, he has only won a single Sweden event. And that was in 2004. I like to think that it irritates him to no end. Gotta hand it to the Fins, Swedes, and Nords.

    Thanks for this insight.

WRC has always been one of forms of racing I like the best and am completely amazed by. I can't believe it gets such minimal coverage now.
