University of VARA (Vintage Auto Racing Assn) Driving School
I haven't done a track day in a long time and thought this might be a good way to get back on track--as a beginner with comprehensive instruction. Is anyone familiar with this event?
It seems like it's pretty popular.

I went through it a few years back even though I already had competition licenses from the SCCA and NASA. I treated it as a "tune-up".
It caters to drivers that don't have much on-track experience and they do a bunch of useful exercises such as a slalom course, skid pad, threshold braking, as well as on-track instruction with an instructor. There is also a significant amount of time in the classroom with instructors. Danny McKeever is one of the instructors. Most of the cars were street cars. For race-prepped cars, they will let you do mock race starts.
It's a very good two-day school and I had a lot of fun. You can't beat the price ($395). I think you will get a lot out of it. Does your track car have a seat for an instructor?
