Question Need a new Seat. Recommendations?

    Car: 2015 WRX

Coming off a recent spinal fusion surgery from late December and figure it time to upgrade my stock seat. The seats are good for daily driving (drive my car into work and to the track). But on the track, there is no support. I have to brace myself in turns and it is overall very uncomfortable for me the next day. Looking for an upgrade with more support and that will hold me in place and still be decent enough for DD. Anyone have any suggestions and a place where I could go and sit in one? Live in Glendale and work in the Valley so somewhere around this area would be ideal but no opposed to driving somewhere else to try it out.

    We're in Canoga Park.
What's your sizing? Height, waist size, weight?

I don't know where your fused parts are, but you will want to step up for a seat that uses modern ergonomic features. I tested a number of seats locally, the best I sat in for me, comfort-wise and from my perspective as a seating designer were the Racetech and Recaro products. Waaay out of my budget though. You may have to layer out some cushions to get the support you need in the right places. Good luck!

Why not go custom? Or do a custom liner in a race seat...

@force McCocken (fused at L5-L6) Thanks will check those two brands out.

@fatbillybob Didn't know that was an option. might be out of my budget at the moment. Just want something to hold me in place or prevent me me from sliding around. using my knees to brace myself hurts and is causing unnecessary sciatic pain.

Still looking to try some seats out any shops around that have some to test out? Doesn't have to be an exact fit, just need to get an idea prior to pulling the trigger on one.

If you end up making a trip down to Orange County you can hit up Sube Sports for the Cobra seats and Sparco has a showroom in Irvine with all of their seats too. A bit of a drive from where you are at. I found the fiberglass race seats much more comfortable than the aluminium race seats.
