I have one on my sa2015 stilo and it's the inflatable kind. The nipple is just on the back velcroed to the foam and I never notice it at all with the Hans.
VARA announced that these will be mandatory next year. It seems there are two types, the balloon in the top of the helmet with a pump that sits outside or the balaclava with handles. Do any of you learned folks have any experience with these? With a HANS it is already hard to get buckled in alone, I can't imagine more little things hanging out there to get in the way of the belts. What should I choose?

Thanks!
Interesting. I am not seeing much info on these online. Is there another name or something else I should google? Is there make/model that is common?
There's no pump on the imsa required "eject" system.
Is this the IMSA system you are referring to?

That is an old design. There can't be patents on that. Maybe a specfic claim but the headsock helmet remover is old tech.
As if helmets weren't expensive enough already.
Roux seems to have a really nice system built in to all their helmets
I have the balaclava with handles type. The Stand 21 Lid Lifter.
Even though it looks bulkier than a standard single-layer balaclava I find it to be just as comfortable as the standard ones I used in the past.
Nothing to inflate or nothing to add to your helmet.
I have always upgraded my safety equipment when I can see the benefit.
I believe it came with a sticker to put on your helmet so safety/rescue crews will know you are wearing one of these.
