There is a fire burning pretty close to WSIR right now. Does anyone know if this event will continue. Looks like the 14 might be closed..

The fire really isn't anywhere near WSIR as far as I can tell. It's more near Palmdale and about 30 miles south of WSIR. The 14 remains open and the fire at this point isn't in danger of closing the freeway. I think we'll be fine for this event, but I'll keep a close eye on the fire today.

It was really hazy and muggy down in Palmdale when I left the Air Force Base yesterday, but like Chris said, it's not even close to the track, so we shouldn't be too worried...

I just signed up. Screw what the wallet says. I think if my car/brakes were to fail, it would be safer at SOW than coming around the ROVAL.
Thanks for the compliment, have fun out there!!

It's gonna be a last minute thing for me. Are you taking walk-ons at the track or can I still register through the site tomorrow?

Probably 7:30 or 8 in the morning.

Would anyone be kind enough to lend me their tools during the day tomorrow? I realized that I didn't bring any down from norcal.

Awesome day today! Good seeing some of you guys. I had such a fun time today; had a blast driving a little bit with Chris, Zee, and Sherman there at the end. And the novice people I 'worked' with did great. I had 2 students who were brand-new to tracking their cars. One ended up with a 1:37.1 in his bone-stock (not S2ki-bone-stock) 330i, and the other did a 1:33.x in his M3. Again we are talking 1st time HPDE'ers here!
