    Question

    Emilio,

I was only addressing the erroneous information that it wasn't possible to cook dyno results. I wasn't talking about the value or not of running spm.

I don't get the irony you mentioned. My car is open to you at anytime if you care to review. There is grey area exploitations. There are no power cheats on this car that could be put on the sm podium by any good sm driver.

But since you brought it up, you under estimate peoples willingness to do just about anything, whether needed or not. The conversation in sm that you are fully aware of is that good drivers in well prepoed cars don't need to cheat. It is cars and drivers that have capped their talent that believe you need to cheat.

But why are we still comparing? You have stated that it is self evident that spm and sm or any nasa or scca class are not comparable to what you guys are doing. I believe the goal of your class was to provide a fun class where people don't want to do anything in order to win. In sm, I will do anything in my power without violating what I believe to honorable. That is fun for me! To spend countless hours fine tuning and knowing we are developing towards excellence. Some don't enjoy that aspect. I do.

In SM, as well as in other classes, there are cases of drivers caught cheating at all levels of talent/car prep. Just look at the fiasco last year and this year with the Florida SM folks. The guys caught cheating were front runners. Modified header and altered ECUs.

easiest way to mount front EP dam, is to buy a "Ebay" Garagevary front lip (as a support). then put EP dam over it........

The hardest part for me was the ducting behind the air dam. I'll try to take some pictures this weekend of what I made on Miata Turbo.

Eric - I'll help you but my construction has yet to leave the garage.

you guys are over thinking this.

    1. duct don't need to be attached to the EP dam - you can install it, so it faces forward while inside radiator duct.
    2. duct don't even need to face forward, it can face side way. radiator duct is a high pressure area, so brake duct will get plenty of air no matter which way it faces.

By "ducting" I believe Anthony was referring to the radiator ducting, not brake ducting.

So if I wanted to double dip in SM and SPM with my na6, what would be the most convenient way to keep the car as competitive as it will be in SPM? Would having to swap ecu and header be enough?

There are three things that are going to be super easy to swap between events and will bring the car closer to SPM spec without much work -
Buying a set of 15x8 wheels with the spec tires, having an extra trunk lid with the SPM legal spoiler and having the front undertray and air dam.
If you plan on being at the next SPM round @ ACS come see me, I'll have an NA6 SM with said mods done to it so you can take a look

Thanks, I'll put those mods on my list. I may come to the event, but I don't think the car will be ready for its shakedown by then.

those who follow my FB page know this already, but you may be intersted in the new Miata spoiler that I will be offering very soon (might even be as soon as tomorrow night or Wednesday morning).
It is an adjustable Lexan kit that is designed to be Supermiata legal (and other racing classes too), CNC cut, hinged, all SS hardware etc.. Stay tuned

Finally got my SPM spoiler finished up last night. Think it came out pretty good for my DIY hands. Used the Five Star struts in the link below, 4 total. Little bit tricky placing them so that I can the adjustment needed so I might keep playing with it a little but should do for now.

Next up is the front configuration. Think that's going to be more challenging.
